In order to stay safe and connected in life-threatening situations your ancestors had to judge if a new tribe was a friend or enemy. Such judgments were necessary for their survival.
You also make quick judgments for everyday situations. You judge yourself if you’re adequate enough for a relationship, a particular task, or the ability to make a comfortable living. You are judging whether you can trust friends, family and co-workers. You judge the weather, sports teams, and politicians. The list of judgments is endless.
Although normal, these judgments keep you and our society in Survival Mode!
The result is ongoing vigilance, anxiety, anger, exhaustion, striving, depression, unhappiness, addictions, loneliness, autoimmune conditions, and more.
Thriving Mode is Choosing...
It is healthy to assess yourself and others. In Survival Mode the assessment is colored through the lens of good vs bad judgments. In Thriving Mode you assess through the lens of Complete Acceptance and learn what is adaptive or helpful to yourself and others. This type of assessment allows you to stay calmer, clear-minded, and open-hearted so you can CHOOSE how to think, feel, and behave.
