Thrive and Awaken® Tip
Our ego experiences failure as a threat. It measures life by success and failure, winning and losing, getting it right or getting it wrong. When something doesn’t go as planned, Survival Mode often responds with self-criticism, shame, blame, or regret.
Awakening invites us into a very different relationship with life.
Every experience becomes an opportunity to deepen awareness, expand compassion, and embody greater wisdom. Even our mistakes reveal unconscious patterns that are asking to be seen. Even our disappointments can soften the heart. Even our losses can deepen our appreciation for what truly matters.
This doesn’t mean every event is pleasant or that harmful actions don’t have real consequences. Rather, it means that nothing is wasted. Every moment becomes part of our unfolding.
When we stop resisting what has already happened, we free ourselves to ask a different question. Instead of, “How did I fail?” we begin asking, “What is this experience inviting me to awaken to?”
Life gradually shifts from being a series of tests to pass into a continual invitation to grow.
Reflection
Think of one experience you have labeled as a failure. Can you gently explore how that experience shaped you? What qualities did it cultivate? What understanding emerged that may never have arisen otherwise? Perhaps what once appeared to be a failure was quietly becoming part of your awakening all along.
