Thrive and Awaken® Tip
We spend much of our lives behind a mask of acceptability, revealing only the parts of ourselves that seem safe for the moment. You might share creative qualities with friends that you hide from family or the other way around. Are you ready to release fear and be your genuine self with everyone?
Our ancestors survived by fitting in with the tribe, and that instinct still lives in us. Notice how you may hesitate to share certain parts of yourself such as your fantasies, political or spiritual beliefs, LGBTQ orientation, creative interests, or even your favorite team when they differ from those around you. In Survival Mode, fear drives us to stay safe and seek approval. It can feel dangerous to be true to yourself.
This desire to belong often leads us to go along, to silence our voice, adopt others’ opinions, or bond through shared fears or beliefs. You may see this in mob mentality, ghosting a friend because your peers do, adopting your parents’ political or religious views, or drinking alcohol to fit in. The pull to belong makes moving from Survival to Thriving feel risky. Thriving means daring to be authentic even when that authenticity challenges others’ expectations.
In Thriving Mode, we become conscious of our masks and begin to replace self-judgment with Complete Acceptance. We learn to embrace ourselves fully, including every strength and every perceived flaw. As self-acceptance grows, so does self-love, and we naturally attract communities that honor our genuine nature.
In Awakening Mode, we no longer identify as the ego itself but as the awareness that lovingly holds it. We recognize that the ego, with its fears and stories, is simply a layer, like a coat we wear. As awakening deepens, the need for masks fades. We become expressions of the universe’s creativity, and our genuineness becomes a reflection of that joy moving through us.
