Thrive and Awaken® Tip

An apple does not possess redness on its own. At its core, it exists as a field of energy, visible only when light touches it. In complete darkness, the apple vanishes from view. What we call “red” depends on light being absorbed and reflected, carried to the eye as waves of energy, then translated by the brain into the color we experience.

This is not just about apples. It is about everything you perceive. The sound of music, the warmth of the sun, or the presence of another person are not fixed qualities “out there” waiting for you to notice them. They exist in relationship with you, coming alive in your awareness.

Think about the implications. The universe you experience is not separate from you. You are not a spectator on the sidelines of reality. You are an active participant, co-creating meaning with every glance, every breath, every sensation.

In moments of stress or disconnection, it can feel like life is happening to you. But when you pause and notice, you can see the deeper truth: life is happening through you. The color of an apple, the laughter of a friend, and the quiet of a morning are all brought into being by your awareness.

Contemplation
Take a moment and breathe this in. You are not small in the face of the universe. Through your presence, the universe itself is revealed. Throughout the day, pause with Mindfulness and notice a simple object around you: your coffee cup, a flower, even your hand. Instead of assuming you “know” it, sense how your awareness gives it color, shape, and meaning. Let this reminder bring you back to presence.
