Thrive and Awaken® Tip
Yes…you are this powerful. You literally connect the Earth and the Cosmos. Getting caught in the stories of life can obscure your ability to fully experience this awesome connection.
In Survival Mode, we are living out reactive emotions, thoughts, and behaviors inherited from our early ancestors. Our ancestors needed to be attuned to dangers so they could physically stay alive. Today we continue to look for problems and deficiencies in everyday situations, believing our vigilance will keep us safe. Then we create stories about these problems and orient our lives around them.
Our early ancestors were also attuned to the Cosmos and Earth out of necessity. For example, they let the Cosmos and Earth guide them in their timing of planting and harvesting crops. Because we are less dependent on the stars to guide us and most people don’t work with the Earth to feed us, we don’t feel our connectedness as deeply. The majority of humans today live in cities. With light pollution the stars are obscured, and the brightly lit grocery stores make us feel disconnected from nature. Farming is primarily industrialized and hunting is often for sport.
As our science has evolved, we can have a deeper appreciation of our connections. We know that the elements making up our bodies came from the Cosmos. Hydrogen and helium were the elements present from the beginning. Other elements such as iron and calcium came from exploding stars. We are the Cosmos. Cosmologists use the phrase, “We are stardust.”
We also are the Earth. Our lives are only possible when we take in food, water, air, and many other facets of our planet.
These connections are amazing and a source of AWE! It’s hard to sustain the feeling of awe when we get pulled into the stories of our ego. Often we are more concerned whether someone returned a text or email in a timely or heart-felt way.
As we learn to thrive, we choose to be grounded, open-hearted, and clear-minded. To awaken to a greater consciousness, just look around. Everything is interconnected. It is one thing for everything to be woven together, but it’s another to perceive and feel it directly. You are the connection between the Cosmos and the Earth. That realization is awe inspiring.
Contemplation:
Devote one day to deeply experiencing your connection with the Cosmos and the Earth. It will change your life.
