Thrive and Awaken® Tip
Ever feel like this puppy? You resist going somewhere or doing something that you don’t understand. Imagine a friend asking you to join them in an improv comedy class or to attend a lecture on the role Sanskrit has played in the major religions. These are activities you likely haven’t done recently and probably don’t have much familiarity with. Can you feel the resistance?
Now imagine a friend inviting you to a concert of your favorite band. Compare the difference in your feelings.
This resistance to the unfamiliar is a natural part of Survival Mode. Our ancestors would naturally approach a newly discovered animal or plant with great caution to avoid harm.
Thriving includes embracing what is and then from a grounded, open-hearted, and clear minded place choose what is in your best interest. If we don’t consciously choose, our automatic survival mode reactivity chooses for us.
