Thriving and Awakening Tip

Everyone judges themselves as good/bad, adequate/inadequate, loveable/unlovable, and everything in between.  You were raised to have “good” manners and hurting someone was a “bad” behavior.  The judgments form the morals and values of individuals and their culture.

There is a shadow side to these judgments.  When the judgments are applied to others it is the source of all oppression, abuse, and war.  Someone who is different than you is bad and deserves to be discriminated against.  When the judgments are applied to yourself, they are the source of anxiety, fear, worry, and depression.  These ongoing judgments release stress hormones and can lead to chronic inflammation, literally decreasing how long you’ll live.

Today’s tip is to replace the self-judgment with compassionate self-awareness.  It is much healthier to be aware and compassionate of your behaviors, thoughts, and feelings.  With awareness you can choose how you want to be.  This type of discernment allows you to Thrive.
