Thrive and Awaken® Tip

In Survival Mode, our stepping stones are made of fear that push us towards a goal. For example, you may fear repercussions at school or work if you don’t finish a task on time. You procrastinate for days then stay up all night getting it done. You may fear you aren’t losing weight and go on a crash diet. You may fear not being accepted at a social event and drink alcohol to fit in. Stepping stones of Fear are used to push you towards achieving something.

In Thriving Mode our stepping stones are made of love. You first accept all the survival reactions as normal and choose to love yourself, life, and others to pull you forward. With the school/work assignment you see this as an opportunity to learn something and are excited about expanding your skill set. If you’ve gained weight, you recognize how you’ve used food to comfort yourself. By loving and cherishing your body as it is, you will be more inclined to eat for nourishment and find alternate ways to calm stress. When you love and accept yourself as you are, you automatically want to share that joy with others and will look forward to a social event. Stepping stones of Love are inviting, they pull you forward.

Are you using love or fear to motivate yourself? The choice is yours…
